Why we built AquaMind

WaterDoctor began with the water itself — the microbial biology that keeps a recirculating system stable, the nitrogen chemistry, the biofilm. Ten years of research at the National University of Singapore turned that science into the SND functional-microbial engine now running in ponds and RAS across Singapore and China.

But the biology only optimizes the system. Operators kept asking us about something else: the gap between having the data and knowing what to do next. A tank crash at 3am does not wait for a consultant's calendar, and deep aquaculture expertise has always been scarce and expensive.

AquaMind V2 is the answer we built for that gap — a vertical, multi-agent system that reads a case the way a small panel of specialists would, checks every load-bearing citation against real literature, and routes high-stakes calls to a human expert when the AI is not enough. It is the AI-digital-expert pillar of WaterDoctor: distinct from the microbial and hardware work, but built on the same scientific foundation.

The hardware and microbial work optimize the system — cleaner water, better nitrogen cycling, healthier biofilms. AquaMind optimizes the operator's decisions — faster diagnosis, citation-grounded recommendations, and escalation when the stakes warrant it. The two are complementary, but they ship and scale independently, on different cadences, to different buyers.

Where we operate
